What’s on at St Peter’s in June 2017

Tues 6th June


Senior Citizens’ Lunch club with activities and a hot meal every Tuesday.

  • Arrive from 10am-10.30 and enjoy tea or coffee and a chat, followed by the activity of the day.
  • Our activities include films, talks, crafts, games: on June 13th we will be having a talk about ’Eyam’ – the plague village in Derbyshire.
  • Lunch served from about 12:15pm: a freshly cooked hot meal followed by dessert, for just £5 per person.
  • Ideal for anyone wanting a bit of companionship and   something to do!
Weds 7th June


Coffee Afternoon at Mount Road Chapel with cakes, refreshments etc.
Fri 9th June 7.30pm Film Club-”Big Eyes” with Christopher Waltz, Amy Adams and directed by Tim Burton, click here for more information.

Coffee morning: at Stanley community centre with all the usual great stalls. Click here for more information.

Scout Fest Fundraising day at the church with lots of fun activities.

Bouncy castle, tombola, raffle, face painting, tuck shop, live band, cream teas, bar, coconut shy, craft tent, archery, cubs & scouts songs………..

Kids free, adults £3

To raise money for 1st Yorkshire BP cubs & scouts

Father’s Day family parade service: with the uniformed organisations.

West Riding Watercolour society meeting:

The group meets every month at St Peter’s Church for demonstrations by artists, informal painting evenings and to share techniques and knowledge.

Open to everyone; the cost is £3.50 per session.

Next meeting: Monday 19th June 7pm-9pm

With a general painting evening; all abilities   welcome. Tuition for beginners if required

Jumble Sale at Mount Road Methodist chapel.

School summer fair at Stanley St Peter’s, with lots of activities.

Stanley Community Singers summer concert: come and support your local community choir; also refreshments and a raffle.

Summer Concert with special guest performers

Sunday 2nd July, 4pm, at St Peter’s Church

Tickets available on the door; also with a raffle, and the concert will be followed by refreshments

The concert is in aid of the Stanley Community Singers but a donation will also be made to a local charity

The Stanley Community Singers meet at St Peter’s Church every Monday (in term-time), 1pm—2:30pm. No previous experience required, just a love of singing! Come along, make some new friends and enjoy a good sing-song!

We sing from 1pm-2pm with time afterwards for refreshments and chat. Cost per session = £2.50

Moorhouse community action group meeting:

The Moorhouse Community Action Group is now meeting every two months. The next meeting will be on Thursday 13th July at 6pm at St Peter’s Church. Come along and share any issues specific to Moorhouse with local councillors and WDH representatives.
