Stanley Day Nursery have recently signed a long term lease to run Stanley Community Centre. This is great news as it means that the centre will be kept open—many thanks to Councillors Jacqui Williams and Matthew Morley who were involved in the negotiations.
Chris and Julia Schofield who run the nursery have already been using one of the rooms at the community centre for some time. A condition of the lease is that the centre must be made available for public use whenever possible—which is likely to be at the weekends and in the evenings at least.
However, at the present time, it is still uncertain whether the church will be able to continue with its coffee mornings or not as the nursery has already had lots of enquiries from people wanting to use the centre at the weekends.
Last month’s coffee morning was a big success, raising £225.86—thank you to everyone who comes along every month to support the event.
The next coffee morning will take place on Saturday 10th June from 10am-12pm at the community centre.
